Joey Bada$$ – Victory [Audio]

Joey Bada$$ returns with a new joint called “Victory”. Produced by Kirk Knight and Adam Pallin, “Victory” sees the 22-year-old dropping confident lyrical gems over a head-knocking beat with a seemingly-effortless flow. As part of the collaboration with the soda brand, Joey will be down in New Orleans for NBA All-Star Weekend this upcoming weekend (Feb. 18-19) to perform the song for the first time, film a music video that will be released later in the NBA season and launching The Courtside Project, which, according to a press release, aims to showcase the cultural aspects surrounding the game of basketball. “I’m excited to be a part of The Courtside Project,” Joey said in a statement to Billboard. “It’s the fusion of several different worlds — from basketball to music, style and art — that are not all separate streams anymore, they are interconnected. I always want to encourage the youth to be themselves and pursue their dreams, whether those are hoop dreams, Grammy dreams or PhD dreams.” Listen below.

Aaron Rose – Parkside Ave [Audio]

Take a trip to Pro Era rapper Aaron Rose’s stomping grounds on “Parkside Ave,” the grimy new single from his much anticipated new EP, ‘Elixir.’ Whereas previous single “Swank Corleone” was a straight-up banger, “Parkside Ave” showcases the Brooklyn artist’s ability to flow effortlessly over a grittier instrumental. It comes courtesy of J57, who provided a majority of the beats on ‘Elixir.’ And on this track, his production is all murk and head-nodding drums. Of course, the artist formerly known as A La $ole uses the Boom bap backdrop to his advantage, especially when nearly blacking out during the final verse. It’s another impressive display of just how technically gifted Rose is as an emcee, but more importantly, it’s another reminder that Elixir is shaping up to be one of the year’s finest Hip-Hop releases. “Parkside Ave” can now be streamed, and is available for download as the second instant grat track off the iTunes pre-order for ‘Elixir,’ which drops next Friday, December 16th, via Coalmine Records.
