dEnAuN aka Mr. Porter – Stuff In My Backpack [EP]

“sTuFf In My BaCkPaCk” is a 6-song, EP consisting of new, unreleased songs, produced by Grammy Award winning producer, dEnAuN aka Mr Porter with co-production credits to Dj TJ the King, Cutty Dre and Brandon Williams. It is a refreshing, cutting edge body of work that will provide fans a comprehensive look into the evolution of Porter as both artist and producer. Fresh off the Monster Tour where he performed as Eminem’s hype-man in front of audiences of over 97,000, dEnAuN’s “sTuFf In My BaCkPaCk” demonstrates his uncanny ability to infuse a unique, creative style of wordplay with his signature melodic, yet gritty, Hip Hop beats, complete with infectious, signature drums Mr. Porter is often praised for. The EP contains appearances from Hip Hop notables such as Royce Da 5’9″, Phonte, Pharoahe Monch and Jamla Records artist, Rapsody, friends intentionally chosen to provide a sound that gives fans the connection he feels with each of these artists. “For me, this project is the start of sharing music as an artist.” Explained dEnAuN, ”These songs all gave me a retro feel of my favorite time in Hip Hop, which I call the Tribe era, a fun time in music when you never knew what to expect. This is my interpretation of that. This is the #sTuFfInMyBaCkPaCk.” Stuff In My Backpack by dEnAuN aka Mr Porter

Mr. Porter Made A Beat For Eminem… And Gave It To Kendrick Lamar [Video]

After the release of the single and video for “i” the world is patiently waiting for the release of Kendrick Lamar’s follow-up album to good kid, m.A.A.d city. One of his collaborators, Denaun Porter, admitted that he doesn’t even know if he made the album, but did say that Kendrick has recorded new songs to some of his beats. “He does have this one record that I gave to Em, I made it for Em,” Mr. Porter tells WatchLOUDcom. “I took this Dave Chappelle interview and I made this beat out of it. Only a person like Em or Kendrick can pull it off. It’s one of my favorite beats I ever made, ever. I played it for Em but he was already at the end of this last new album and I told him I gave it to Kendrick and he was like ‘What?’ He was like ‘Man that beat is crazy,’ he just couldn’t find where it fit at the time, going through the 11th hour thing. It has to be the right beat sometimes. I might make a beat this year that might not pop until after. I think all of my friends go through that. I heard some sh*t that Seige Monstracity was playing and I told him people might not get it now but it’ll surprise the sh*t out of them later. Khalil is the same way, Focus…has the same problem. Them’s Dre’s kids. We came up under a guy that’s always looking for the

Mr. Porter – Hey [Video]

DEnAuN strikes again with “Hey!”, the bonus track from his upcoming promotional 5-song EP entitled “Stuff in My Back Pack” DEnAuN says of the song, “I was chilling with Jay Electronica and his DJ, DJ TJ, and he starts playing loops. I stopped him when he got the that loop [heard in “Hey”] and I instantly thought it would be cool to rhyme over it. Things are pretty uptight these days with all that’s going on and there’s not bee a lot to smile about, so I called up some friends, hit the beach and shot the video. This project reminds me of my roots which is 93 to 96 era of hip hop that got me started- Tribe, Common, De La and Slum Village. This is just something light-hearted I wanted to share.” The video, directed by Morningside Films, also gives fans a precursor of what’s to come from from the EP as they will hear snippets of select tracks infused within the piece. Songs like “Cooking” (featuring Royce Da 5’9″ and another surprise guest) and “Impayshunt” featuring Phonte, which is the first track released by DEnAuN featuring his singing chops “Stuff In My Back Pack” (dropping later this month) is a refreshing body of work, all produced by Mr. Porter, that will provide fans a bit of DEnAuN as he gears up for the release of his highly anticipated album, “NiNe”, dropping in 2015. The project features guest appearances by Rhapsody, Scram Jones, Royce Da 5’9 and Phonte.

I met Tito Lopez and had him come in and add to this skit that could probably be a song but stayed a skit.. This was suppose to be on my album but it has evolved into another beast. Im learning to share more with the world. So this is me stepping out on faith and letting things go. I have a God given talent and often hide it. Maybe because i didn’t love my self..Now I do and i appreciate every breathing moment in my life!! Hope you enjoy… – Mr. Porter
