MoSS feat. Jon Connor, Willie The Kid & Guilty Simpson – Emotional (Redux) [Audio]

Here goes another cut from MoSS’ “Marching to the Sound of My Own Drum” project, which is due out on November 13th. Pre-order your copy here. “I’ve worked with Detroit artists for many years now, way back to when I produced Obie Trice’s first 12” Well Known Asshole. Over the years I’ve continued to work with various artists, I did “1,2” for Slum Village and a bunch of songs for Vstylez, who released an album early this year At Oddz till I’m even. I produced a track on there with a heavy rock sound called “Emotional”. I called up V and said I wanted to remix it, give it an entire new vibe and add new artists on it. He was down and the song was recorded.” – MoSS

DJ Soko feat. Guilty Simpson & Hassaan Mackey – Stand Up [Stream x Download]

The ominous horns and pounding drums herald the beginning of the blistering opening verse of “Stand Up”, the lead single from DJ Soko (The Left)’s upcoming project on his new imprint Left Of Center. The Apollo Brown produced banger is the perfect aural backdrop for Guilty Simpson and Hassaan Mackey to spit verbal murder over punctuated by DJ Soko’s masterful cuts. When all of these elements come together the end result is an instant headnod starter kit. Guilty Simpson and Hassaan Mackey’s combined bars are the sonic equivalent of the water truck scene in “Snowpiecer” (if you haven’t seen “Snowpiercer”, you’re going to want to after hearing this song). Regard “Stand Up” as a portent of things to come once DJ Soko’s debut LP “Domino Effect” drops this August. You’ve been warned…

DJ Soko feat. Guilty Simpson – Kyle Reese [Stream]

Guilty Simpson gets straight to the point. He doesn’t mince words nor does he waste bars. In someone else’s hands, Def Dee’s uptempo track might’ve made for a danceable song with a catchy hook but Guilty Simpson’s lyrics and patented delivery transform it into a short but sweet barrage of verbal carnage. “Kyle Reese” is made complete by DJ Soko’s scratched hooks that perfectly complement both the beat and the bars. Yet another banger brought to you by Left Of Center. “Domino Effect” due out August 21, 2015 through Left Of Center with manufacturing and distribution via Fat Beats.

Vice Souletric feat. Guilty Simpson – Troublesome [Stream]

We’ve been lied to. The “land of the free and the home of the brave” may have been true at one point in American history, but the mantra couldn’t be any farther from the truth today. The media has painted a picture of minorities as criminals to be feared. Law enforcement comb the streets, often acting as judge, jury and executioner, to those who have no affiliation with criminal activity. It’s this very behavior that destroying the bedrock of our country, and the notion of liberty. Leading the pack in fighting for what’s right are Vice Soulectric, and Guilty Simpson with “Troublesome,” the debut leak taken from Vice’s forthcoming EP, ‘Vice for President.’ As Vice drops knowledge on being called into question for being wrongfully accused by those who are sworn to protect and serve, Guilty echoes a Biggie bar, reminiscing on that fact that for many, sports and entertainment are the only way for African Americans to be successful in this current system. The highly charged, futuristic head nodder produced by Vice, serves as a much needed dose of reality rap. Mark your calendars for the April 7th release of Vice for President, which is set to drop through Vice’s United Grind imprint…stay tuned!
