Brother Ali – Own Light (What Hearts Are For) [Audio]

Brother Ali drops off “Own Light (What Hearts Are For)”, the latest single from his upcoming LP “”All The Beauty In This Whole Life”. Says Ali: ‘I’m honored to present “Own Light”, the theme song of my new album “All The Beauty In This Whole Life”. Healthy hearts house the light that animates all that we are, and everything we do. The light in our hearts is what allows us to hear, heal and be whole. No matter how they repackage their dreary fearfulness, they’ll never plant that flag over here. I’m using my heart for, what hearts are for. Song produced by ANT.’ Listen below.

Brother Ali Speaks On New Album “All The Beauty In This Whole Life” [Video]

“I can’t tell you how excited I am to offer a new album to the world. Each of my projects are the result of the pain, growth and eventual healing that I experience. Articulating the pain and navigating the healing allows those of you who really feel my music to travel with me. It’s not only that we hurt together, we heal together as well. Ant produced the entire project and it might be our best work.” -Brother Ali

Brother Ali Interview w/ HHS1987 (Part 2) [Video]

In part two of our interview, Ali talks about him and Immortal Technique putting together the War & Peace Tour. He goes into detail highlighting that though Immortal Technique’s message is similar to his they have two totally different ways of getting their ideas across. The lyrical liaison also touches on how to truly see a change in our culture for the better we can’t just talk about positive things but practice what we preach. The interview slowly turns into a well needed PSA on racism and closes up with details of his new project produced by Jake One.

Brother Ali Interview w/ HHS1987 (Part 1) [Video]

Recently HHS1987’s Own E-money got the opportunity to hook up with underground rap legend Brother Ali as Rick Dange captured every second of the one of a kind experience. In part one of their long over due conversation the pair discussed Ali’s early beginnings, being one of the first artist to take the independent route and make a living off touring, as well as how the business model they used in the late 90’s has now popularized and become the norm. He also credits Tech N9ne for helping him establish and build relationships that allowed them to operate without the backing of a major label. The most noteworthy piece of information we learn during this interview is that after 8 straight years of touring Ali began to lose his self in the “illusion” of fame and took some time off to re-focus and remind himself what’s most important in life.

Brother Ali & Jake One – Left In The Deck [Album Stream]

As we embark on the War And Peace Tour with my brother, Immortal Technique, I’m excited to release a new musical project. “Left In The Deck” is a collection of 10 raw, grimy recordings made in basements and hotel rooms around the world. This demo-tape style release was produced entirely by Jake One. It hasn’t been polished up for the market or cleaned for the radio. These songs were left in their original demo form and are intended only for my family of direct supporters. The beats are grimy and I feel like this is some of the best rhyming I’ve ever captured on tape. I want to release this directly to you. You can stream here, and for all those kind enough to buy any Brother Ali shirt on the War And Peace Tour this fall, you’ll also receive a digital download card of the album with your purchase. If the tour isn’t coming to your city or you don’t want to wait, don’t worry you can get the music immediately when you pre-order the “Cassette” shirt from Fifth Element. Peace, Love and Power! See you soon, and thank you for your support. – Brother Ali Tracklist Side A Dial Tone Grandma And Them Digital Age Never Stoppin’ Not A Day Goes By Side B Well Okay Steerange Phantom Of The Opera Rapper Thing Devil’s Arms
