They immediately got in the booth and knocked out a buttery smooth track entitled “Inland City Blues.” A play on the classic Marvin Gaye track “Inner City Blues,” “Inland City Blues” is all about how everyday problems aren’t so bad when your life is mostly defined by a burgeoning bank account, fawning females, and copious amounts of marijuana. As Price raps: “I let my nuts hang and my fist high.” Shoutout to BrandUn DeShay for supplying this beat. Flute samples are criminally underutilized in hip hop. They always evoke a carefree, floating sensation.
