HNHH is happy to premiere Downtown Dion’s new mixtape, “Swoop Dreams”, a cohesive, compact ten track experience with the bulk of production handled by Brookyln producer Harry Fraud. Dion prefers to go in solo, opting to take the featureless route. His versatility shines, sounding comfortable over Fraud’s more futuristic trap offerings and his slow-burning old school beats like standout cut “Frankie Beverly”. While his presence is undeniably formidable, Dion is not afraid to get introspective and even vulnerable, like on slow burner “Nothin”. MacGuyver feat. Sherell Rowe & Willie Waze – Realones [Audio]

If you aren’t familiar with rapper and singer-songwriter MacGuyver, then you may need to be. Hailing from the DMV, MacGuyver is one of the most talented and promising independent artists today, with an attention grabbing voice backed by hard-hitting beats. After a handful of successful mixtapes and radio airplay, MacGuyver released his debut studio album “1984” on March 6th. Consisting of 11 tracks, the album’s production is anything less than amateur as Pat Driven, Justin Meile and A.J. Halpern manage to produce beats that would make even the hottest main stream producer listen twice. In support of the album, MacGuyver has chosen the fan favorite RealOnes as the album’s lead single. The song finds MacGuyver giving a positive outlook despite the world being against you: “I just want the whole world to shine with me /Prince or peasant we could be all filthy/ All forgotten niggas get a second shot/ And all my bottom dwellers get to see the top/” Rapper Willie Waze, who is also a very skilled rapper, shines as well, while singer Sherell Rowe’s feminine vocals add a much needed touch to the song’s serious nature, with her voice blending smoothly with MacGuyver’s during the song’s hook. “1984” is currently available for purchase on iTunes and also available for streaming on Spotify, Google Play and Tidal.
