Says Navarro: ‘This is the intro to an upcoming album called “De Este Lado Tambien Hay Sueños”. Song produced by Custom and Serious. The picture is my father (on far left) with his friends working in farms in the US in the 70s. He came in search of a dream. Hoping to make a life for his wife (my mother) and his daughters (my sisters) back in Mexico. He eventually returned because he couldn’t do it without them and they all came back as a family. I was born and raised in Chicago. I’ve been given countless opportunities because of the sacrifices my parents made. I will forever be grateful. Thank you to all the immigrants in our beautiful country that make it run every day.’ Stream/download below.

Read more“The Journey” is a showcase of the brilliant production work of Spanish-German artist, Superior. His approach combines Golden Era instrumentals with a lineup of guest emcees who deliver sharp rhymes that touch on everything from bully raps to thoughtful introspection. Superior’s intentions are clear right out of the gate with opener “Make The World Go”, a slapper with insights from two living underground legends in Blu and Edo G. From there, the instrumentals and features both keep the album balanced, tightly constructed, and flowing seamlessly. That goes for whether Superior serves up a teeth-gritting banger like “Rapper Shot”, featuring Don Streat, Termanology, Lil Fame, and DJ Grazzhoppa, or a soulful reflection on life like “Open Letter”, featuring Lyric Jones. The Journey’s cohesion says a lot about not only Superior’s talents as a producer, but as an artist with a clear vision. No surprise, then, that his love of the music and the culture run deep. As a child growing up in the late ‘80s, Superior got his start in Hip-Hop first a B-Boy, after soaking in everything from old school Funk and Soul, to groundbreaking rap acts like Public Enemy and N.W.A. You can hear the depth of their production in his own music, in addition to Boom bap forefathers like Pete Rock and DJ Premier. Clearly, there is a lot to love about “The Journey” — and lucky for us, Superior’s only just getting started. “The Journey” is now available through all major digital retailers and streaming platforms, and

Read moreBoston rapper Lucky Dice hits the campaign trail for his upcoming debut album, ‘M.O.S.A. (Memoirs of a Starving Artist),’ in his stylish new video for standout single “Memoirs.” Truth be told, there’s not too much of a defining difference between a politician playing the political game and an artist playing the rap game. That makes the visuals for “Memoirs” all the more gripping, because it’s important that people know how arduous the artistic process can be. And for Dice, that’s meant spending nearly two decades growing into his role as a stalwart in his hometown, a journey that he outlines with tenacity and honesty throughout his verses on here. It’s all captured by director Xander Z. Hayes (of XZH Visuals), who follows the rapper’s trek across Boston and the eventual celebration at his campaign headquarters. It plays out like a clever nod to 1998 film ‘Bulworth’ if, you know, the movie itself didn’t suck. But that soundtrack tho! Check out the visuals and be sure to support Dice’s official debut, which is set to drop next Friday (2/24) through all major digital outlets and streaming platforms, via Beantown Bullies Music!
