iiND Nature – RAMENdon (noodlEP) [EP]

RAMENdon is a “noodlEP” centered around Top Ramen. Growing up, the infamously cheap instant noodle product was often the only thing to eat in iiND Nature’s home — a household he shared with his three older siblings and single mother. This project chronicles the welfarian experiences that spurred his transformation into “The RAMENdon,” a being who tastes sugar in bouillon cubes — or sees the positive in negative situations. RAMENdon features some ill blaps from producers Patrick Sexx, Evil Needle, Aru-2, and more.

Sean Paul – Ganja Man (Bynon Remix) [Audio x Download]

“At beginning of 2015, while on vacation with my closest friends and family, I was introduced to a record by Julio Iglesias entitled “Pobre Diable”; It was one of those tracks that I immediately fell in love with, and at that moment that I knew I wanted to make a rework of the record in a completely different way. About 8 months later Sean sent me his own take on Jidenna’s song “Classic Man”, “Ganja Man”. I played him Diablo and everything just clicked! It is a very special record for me and this free download is the result, I hope you enjoy!” – Bynon

Zubz feat. Pharoahe Monch & Skyzoo – Doctor Goodlungs [Audio]

Off of Zambian emcee Zubz’ forthcoming Nina Simone tribute project, “Last Letter to Nina: A Tribute To The High Priestess of Soul”. “Nina Simone’s influence on me sits in my view of the world more than anything else,” Zubz shared with OKP. “It’s because of artists like Nina and the songs she sang that I think a certain way or view the world through a certain lens. The honesty in her voice, the magnetism of her live recordings all add to what has shaped me as an MC as well as a person. As for doing a tribute, that was a collective idea sparked by Mizi and Inyambo. Mizi came to me with the plan to do a tribute and explained how he and Nyambz had been hearing my voice all over the soundscapes they were creating inspired by Nina Simone’s music. I heard some of the music they were incubating and I instantly resonated with the project and we knuckled down to recording. Artists like Nina are a rarity. Paying homage to powerful spirits like hers musically is a duty for artists like me.” Bonus: Zubz feat. Ninan Simone – Hold It

KRS-One – Now Hear This [Album Stream]

“This album is raw”—this is one of the first things heard when you press play on NOW HEAR THIS, and raw it is! KRS-One puts on his headphones, checks on his lead producer DJ Predator Prime, and Boom! Song after song speaks with clarity, strength and substance! Much of the subject matter on NOW HEAR THIS deals with the current social challenges of our time and documents the often ignored views of America’s “other” citizens. KRS-One has always been ahead of his peers with beats and rhymes that have guided and developed Hip Hop itself, but with songs like “Drugs Won”, “American Flag”, “From the Beginning Again” and G Simone’s “Oh Cruel Mob” poem which concludes the album, KRS-One clearly leaps ahead of what is commonly called “hip-hop” today, and brings us right back to what original Hip Hop was always meant to be—THE UNAPOLOGETIC VOICE OF THE PEOPLE! Yes, we all like to party and get crazy at times; but not all of the time, and KRS-One’s NOW HEAR THIS project brilliantly balances salient social street issues with classic DJ and emcee party-rocking rhymes. Songs like “Duty”, “Let’s Go” and this week’s release “Sound Man” are sure to move the neck of any true Hip Hop head. Now Hear This The Album by KRS-One
