Kendrick Lamar recently prank called Jay Rock during a radio interview, calling in under the guise of a fawning female fan. Jay told Baker that he suspected it might have been him but wasn’t sure. “It was funny as fuck though.” He shared the story of how he linked up with Busta Rhymes for “Fly on the Wall” as well as the inspiration for 90059 standout “Gumbo. His dad’s side of the family hails from Louisiana, and his grandma was an all-world gumbo cook. When you’re making music, all you’re doing is cooking some good food,” said Jay. “And if you drop it off somewhere, one person is gonna eat it and they’re gonna want to share with the world if it’s good.” As far as what’s next for TDE, Jay said that Schoolboy Q has been in the lab cooking up some “crazy stuff,” and that he himself will return to the lab as soon as gets home to start on his next project.

Says Jared: “The Richest Man Alive” is a record I made shortly after The Art Form of Whatever project. It’s a song that I wrote in reference to my outlook on wealth. I wanted my family, friends and fan base to know that they are all I need to be a “rich”, wealthy person. This industry makes us think that we need accolades and materials to define our wealth, though I’ve been blessed enough to see it from a different perspective.

Read moreToday we are happy to announce the release of @showyousuck new single “R.A.D. (1428 Elm St.)” through Mishka Records. If the artwork is any sign, the song is haunted, stuck inside Halloween, covered in fake blood while laughing maniacally. The amount of pop culture references in this song will make your head spin. I don’t want to give all of them away, but ShowYouSuck might mention how Mark McGrath is his spirit animal. Rad indeed. Enjoy the song, which acts as the first single to our upcoming single with the Dude Bro himself. Produced by @mike-jaxx with artwork by @basedsatan666.
