Read moreWest Coast legend Cold 187um stopped by the VladTV offices recently and talked about his involvement on the “Compton” album by Dr. Dre. It’s not “Detox,” but “Compton” has already received critical acclaim and has been said to be the best album put out this year. Cold 187um says he couldn’t be happier, as it was Eazy-E’s dream for everyone at Ruthless Records to come together again for another project. “He would want us to be together. ‘Cause that was his whole point. He’s like ‘Man, I just want everybody to be cool again,’” he explains. The Pomona native – who appears on “Loose Cannons” with Xzibit and Sly Pyper – says it all began with a phone call from Dr. Dre asking him to come to the studio so he could “play some things” for him. “It put us all back together,” he says of “Straight Outta Compton,” the biopic currently dominating the box office. Listen as he alludes to Dre putting out new music in the near future and more in another Cold 187um exclusive.

Hopsin, Jarren Benton and Dizzy Wright showed up and showed out earlier this week as they spoke on their fan-boy moments. From Jarren’s run in with Scarface at Shade 45 to Hopsin not being able to meet Busta Rhymes, the trio jokes about meeting other artists and fans of their own. The fun goes far beyond this though as all three emcee’s take to the mic to perform. Hopsin turns it up to “Forever Ill” while Dizzy Wright opens up and performs “Higher Learning” and Jarren wants “Alladat.” Seeing these three three unique artist do their thing, Sway serves up a serious idea of Funk Volume challenging others to a battle.
