Read moreE.D.I. Don of The Outlawz spoke to VladTV exclusively about recording “Hit ‘Em Up” with the late Hussein Fatal, whom he says amped up 2Pac to go harder on the song after hearing his verse. The West Coast emcee also revealed that 2Pac didn’t really flip Biggie’s “Get Money” beat on the diss track because “Hit Em Up” was premeditated while Pac was in jail. Evidently, Pac told Faith about his plans, and she then went and shared it with Biggie; who was smart enough to use the same sample and release a record before Pac. Digging deeper into the recording experience for the song, E.D.I. Don spoke about the competitive spirit in the studio and how he took a battle rap approach to the track, including calling out Lil’ Cease. The Outlawz emcee explained that there was nothing personal between him and Cease when he recorded the track, and E.D.I. Don revealed that they sit and laugh about the verse today. Check out more of what he had to say in the above clip.

Read moreTo promote his highly anticipated debut album, Living Legend, which drops tomorrow (July 31), Gunplay decided to take time out of his busy schedule while in NYC recently and stop by our HNHH headquarters for an exclusive chat. Getting things started with a bottle of Rose popped, Gunplay, aka Don Logan, spent most of his time with us talking about his upcoming album and some specific records off it, including the last song on the album “Leave The Game,” which Gunplay singled out and said “sums off his life & album in one track/three verses.” He also says he got his mother to do the intro on the record, making it very personal to him. Going further into the album, Gunplay says fans can expect to hear a little bit of everything on the debut, a more serious side of him, the smoking side of him, and the usual turn up records that we’re accustomed to hearing as well. He also goes on to tell us that his next single will be the previously heard “Be Like Me” record featuring Ricky Rozay. Before wrapping it up though, Gunplay spoke on some things other than the album, like being from Miami (not South Beach) and doing something called swagger fishing, which finds him hunting real live boars and then ultimately eating them. No joke.
