Souls Of Mischief On Michael Brown & Police Brutality [Video]

Oakland’s own Souls of Mischief sat down with VladTV and shared their thoughts on the recent killing of unarmed teen, Michael Brown in Ferguson, MO by police, and discussed the general pattern of police brutality against African-Americans in the United States. They compared the recent Mike Brown killing to that of Oakland victim Oscar Grant, saying in both cases police obviously used excessive force, however they weren’t shocked by the news, as this is just the latest in a string of killings by police of unarmed black men. They even mention the fact that 2Pac was beaten by cops in Oakland, and that they themselves have been harassed by police, however due to modern technology the country can now witness the incidents and aftermath on a larger scale. Dilated Peoples Talk About Reconnecting, Crushing Instagram, And Their First Group Album In 8 Years [Video]

Dilated Peoples, one of rap’s most notable underground groups, stopped by Complex a little while back to speak about their recently released project Directors Of Photography. Despite being six albums in, this is the west-coast collective’s first joint release since 2006. We spoke to Evidence, DJ Babu and Rakaa about their hiatus, what it was like reconnecting as a trio, and who they brought into the fold for their newest album. During the discussion they revealed that the title of their album is more than just a clever play on words. Babu, Rakaa, and Ev are all actually really ill photographers in their own right, and they spoke on how they jumped into the hobby and making a name for themselves on Instagram. Teyana Taylor On Getting Crossed Over At Jordan Event [Video]

Harlem’s own Teyana Taylor sat down with VladTV and discussed the now infamous moment where she was crossed over on the court while guarding a street baller for a Jordan Brand event in Las Vegas. The first lady of G.O.O.D. Music laughed off the moment, saying that on that particular day, she didn’t want to rock the sweats and snapback hats she usually does, but instead went for a more feminine look, rocking curve hugging jeans that were so tight she couldn’t even properly guard her opponent. She also didn’t think he would go as hard as he did to cross her, as she had in mind that they were just there to entertain the kids.
