GOH vs. Sugarstarr is a one-off collaboration between a bunch of DJs from across Germany, and the legendary US Rap-Star Redman. On the one hand side – the debut of the new combo GOH which is headed by Mauro Mondello, Slick, Tam-R and Giulio, and even Redman as “the voice”. On the other hand side Sugarstarr – known as the one half of the worldtouring DJ-Duo Syke’n’Sugarstarr. The result – “I Used To Be”. A mellow & funk driven housetune with a stunning female vocal-hook in a typical Aretha Franklin manner, guided by Redman’s distinctive and typical rap performance. And – if it’s not enough – even his fabulous buddy Method Man is on board as well to garnish this brandnew release and make it an outstanding summertune.

Nas – Represent [Video]

In celebration of the 20th Anniversary of his seminal debut album Illmatic, Nas held a contest inviting fans to collaborate and produce the official music video for “Represent,” an influential track off of the classic release. This is the first video ever made for the track and was shot at the YouTube Space Los Angeles. Nas’ seminal debut album, Illmatic, has been released as a special 20th Anniversary Edition, titled Illmatic XX, available now. This exclusive collection features several rare remixes, unreleased demos and freestyles to commemorate the anniversary.

While Vic Spencer is mixing Women’s Bathroom, he orchestrated yet another mixtape ‘Just Put this Shit OUT!’ and the first single served is Feastmode that features Deadly Venom Henny B & Disappointed brother-in-rhyme Sulaiman. If you ever downloaded anything from Spencer’s soundcloud page, you will see that it says Just Put the Shit OUT! in the Album column in your Media Player(s). Now Spencer recorded and released many records this way, but he said it will be all unreleased music, rapping over rare loops from the 90s-current. “I never call my albums “mixtapes”, Spencer says aggressively. “All of my projects are ALBUMS except for Vic Greenthumbs, that was my 1st mixtape. Now Just Put this Shit OUT! is my 2nd mixtape, which is coming soon. THIS is how you make a mixtape.”

YG chops it up with 16BARS from Germany. Compton-Rapper YG konnte über das vergangene Jahr immer mehr Aufmerksamkeit auf sich und seinen partner in crime DJ Mustard ziehen, mit dem er in den letzten Jahren einen eigenständigen Sound an der Westcoast etablierte. Im März dieses Jahres veröffentlichte YG dann sein Debüt-Album “My Krazy Life” auf dem Major-Label Def Jam Records und konnte damit sowohl Fans als auch Kritiker zufriedenstellen. Mit den darauf enthaltenen Hits “My Nigga” und “Who Do You Love” holte YG bereits Gold- und Platin-Auszeichnungen. Im Zuge seiner Europa-Tour traf sich Gloria mit dem aufstrebendem Rapper über den Dächern von Berlin und sprach mit ihm u.a. über den Aufnahmeprozess zum Album, seinen Radio-Hit “My Nigga”, die wiedervereinigte G-Unit, seine jüngsten Aussage, die Produzenten von Iggy Azaleas Song “Fancy” hätten DJ Mustards Sound kopiert, sein Casting zum kommenden N.W.A.-Film und vieles mehr.
