Read morePapoose sat down exclusively with VladTV to address a few topics, and given that he follows and supports Battle Rap as he’s been present at past Smack/URL events such as NOME 3, it’s only right that we got him to speak his mind on the power of Battle Rap within Hip-Hop. Papoose began by addressing the stigma against battler rappers that they can’t make good music and succeed in the mainstream music industry. On the contrary, Pap feels as though battlers are “the real rappers, those are the real spitters,” and that the industry has cast a shadow over them to keep the real lyricists out of the mainstream. He agreed with Lupe Fiasco who stated on Twitter that the best rappers are battle rappers, and he related himself to fellow lyricists who’s actual lyrics keep their talent boxed in from mainstream success for some reason. He also spoke on his own “Versace” remix and shared his thoughts on Drake and his “Versace” remix as well. Papoose also shared that along with himself, Drake, Kevin Durant and many others, he feels as though everybody is a fan of Battle Rap.
