Anthony Hamilton – Watch Out [Video]

We’ve played 2 Chainz “Watch Out” so much, it’s damn near at the top of the most played songs of 2015 on this side. We’re shocked no rappers really kicked freestyles to it, but what happens when an R&B singer shows off his rendition of the street certified record? Anthony Hamilton is doing just that in this video and in the least expected places imaginable: the kitchen. While cooking with the The Hamiltones, the trio decides to turn the slapper into a soulful family tune, while whipping up that work. They certainly talked to the stove and told it to lock, dabbed on them and stiff-armed, just like the original. Tity Boi will be happy to see they’re all wearing the Dabbing Santa sweaters too. We wonder what the hell they were making that got them singing 2 Chainz music like church on Sunday. It looked like chicken wings with some fire hot sauce. via OS

Pusha T Talks Tragically Losing His Road Manager, “Darkest Before Dawn” & Kanye West [Video]

King Push talks losing his road manager and how that tragic event set the tone for his album, “Darkest Before Dawn.” He says, “I think there was a level of aggression that came out in the music.” In addition, Pusha tells us about the process of creating “More Rich Than Famous” and “Untouchable.” When asked about his album art, Pusha explains that he worked with photographer, Fabien Montique. He admits to not really having an opinion on what gets selected, because he’s solely focused on the music. “Actually, Kanye does my artwork — all the time, he picks all my photos.”

B.B. & The Underground Kingz – Make Love To My Car / Int’l Blues Players Anthem [Video]

Under the Soul Mates Project banner of “collaborations that never were,” Amerigo Gazaway’s latest imagines a recording session between Blues great, BB King, and Texas rap legends, UGK. Aptly titled “BB & The Underground Kingz: The Trill is Gone,” the producer seamlessly bridges the gap between hip-hop and its predecessor, the blues. Crafting the album’s bedrock from deconstructed samples of King’s electric blues hits, Gazaway re-imagined what might have happened had King and UGK actually recorded in the same time and space. Tapping UGK historian and documentary film maker, Sama’an Ashrawi, for unreleased interview audio, the producer cleverly uses the soundbites to help build his project’s narrative. Strategically looping and lacing Lucille’s guitar licks and B.B.’s road tales with Bun B & Pimp C’s southern fried storytelling, Gazaway finds a sweet spot in the overlapping themes of his subjects’ respective catalogs.
