Torii Wolf – Flow Riiot [Album Stream]

Torii Wolf hits us with her debut album, “Flow Riiot”. Enter Torii Wolf, a singer/songwriter from Wantagh, New York who traded coasts-bouncing around West Coast cities and in doing so enhanced herself artistically; shunning categories, genres, confinement and convention. “Torii has such a weird, wicked style” Premier offers. “It’s just very left field-reminiscent of Bjork. She is just very unique and versatile; she writes, sings, is an accomplished guitarist and drummer. But image wise, there are no comparisons. Subject matter wise, Torii is in a whole different place. Torii is truly one of a kind.” The diversity of the subject matter that Premier touched on is a staple ingredient on Flow Riiot. The anthemic lead-single “Free” featuring Macklemore tackles the battle we face every day to be our authentic selves. Torii’s heart pumps cold and warns of impending doom over a virtual digital symphony and scratch chorus from Preem on “Big Big Trouble.” Conversely, Torii professes her undying love on “I’d Wait Forever And A Day” as Preem recruits his The Badder Band to add lush instrumentation for a sultry big band ballad that Torii’s voice longingly soars over. The stirring Mike Zombie (of Drake’s “Started From The Bottom” & OVO fame) produced “Pain Killer” is the audio equivalent of an opioid, replete with Torii’s pleas to euthanize her anguish, yet so ultimately stimulating it creates a high you can’t stop craving. “Flow Riiot” crescendos with an omnipresent vibe, as Premier creates a diverse palette that exquisitely accentuates Torii’s vast

Torii Wolf – Sway In The Morning Freestyle [Video]

It’s always incredible to have great energy in the studio in the morning, and today it seemed like nothing but positive energy was around. The multi-talented Dj Premier stopped by Sway in the Morning, and introduced us all to Torii Wolf. Premier has been bragging about Wolf for quite some time now, and now we finally got a chance to meet her. Being from Long Island, Wolf carries a lot of talent within herself. She plays a few instruments, but her main choice is the drums. She talks to Sway and the team about a funny story when she was younger, when she won the part of a show and got the opportunity to play the drums. Throughout the interview Wolf talks about her upcoming album, “Flow Riot”. The title is a anagram of her name. She credits, insomnia and not being to sleep, for what brought out this new music. Wolf and Premier met, through Premiers management a while back ago, and they are finally get the chance to blossom and create music together. They didn’t waste any time creating music. As the interview continues, Wolf, describes the album as a melting pot of emotions and feelings. The album will be released September 29th!

Torii Wolf feat. Rapsody – Shadows Crawl (Remix) [Audio]

“Shadows Crawl” inception has quite an interesting backdrop and it was the last track recorded for Flow Riiot; as it was the only track Preemo did not specifically create for Torii, the track was initially sent to Yuna who ended up picking another demo from Premier (that demo would later resurface as “Places To Go,” which was the lead-single from Yuna’s latest album). Torii was the beneficiary and upon being played the instrumental, she wrote “Shadows Crawl” on the spot and cut the vocals. Premier immediately knew it was going to be the second single from their collaborative project. Real DJ’s do real things and just as he did with Torii’s first single, the aptly-titled “1st,” by getting Dilated Peoples to hop on the remix, he and Torii have tapped another fast-rising star in Jamla/Roc Nation’s Rapsody for a remix of “Shadows Crawl.” “I felt Rapsody fit the picture perfectly” DJ Premier relayed to Pigeons & Planes. “Of course to make it complete, I threw in some scratches in the intro for the underground DJ’s so we always have that representation.” In her comments to Pigeons & Planes, Torii was very eager to hear where Rapsody would take the remix “I was very excited to work with Rapsody and to hear what she could do with this and I couldn’t be happier with how it came out. Rapsody adds an entirely new vibe to the record and fully emulated the concept of the song in her own unique way and
