Scott Storch On Fallout With Dr. Dre: “I Burnt A Lot Of Bridges With My Drug Use” [Video]

In this interview, Scott Storch, opened up about how he met Dr. Dre and working on some of his hits such as, “Still Dre” and “Big Ego’s.” Although Storch admits, initially, Dre wouldn’t let him leave after playing the piano for him during their first meeting, he revealed his drug abuse led to their fallout toward the end of their working relationship. “I burnt a lot of bridges with my drug use and pissed a lot of people off,” he said. Even though it appears the two may not reignite the fire in the studio, he added that he sees them repairing their friendship and getting back to work in the near future, “I have a very good feeling about me and Dre in the future. Scott Storch Discusses Possibility Of Being On Kanye’s “Waves” Album [Video]

Scott Storch is currently in the stage of building his career back up, and the famed producer spoke to us about the recent projects he’s been working on, including being in the studio with Kanye West. When asked about the possibility of being on the Chicago rapper’s upcoming album, “Waves,” Scott told us, “I hope so.” Moving along, Scott spoke about his working relationship with Christina Aguilera, which ended due to discrepancies with her management after he produced seven tracks on her highly acclaimed fourth album, “Stripped.” DJ Vlad then asked the producer if he thought Christina had the best voice in music today. After taking a moment to think about the question, Scott told us while he thinks Christina is very talented, he believes Beyonce has one of the best voices he’s ever heard in the studio. Scott Storch Details Dropping Out In 9th Grade & Linking Up With The Roots [Video]

Famed music producer Scott Storch opened up to VladTV about his path to success in music, which included him writing songs at 11 years old and teaching himself how to play piano. Storch explained that he got his first big break when he dropped out of school in ninth grade to be the keyboardist for “The Square Roots,” which later turned into The Roots. After admitting that it felt good to have produced a gold album when he was only 18, Scott said that he left the group in search to be a full-time producer and to escape being known as “the white keyboardist for The Roots.” Moving on, Scott spoke about how The Roots’ “You Got Me” first came together, including Geffen Records’ last-minute decision to replace Jill Scott with Erykah Badu. When asked which version was better, Scott told us that he likes both Jill and Erykah’s version. Scott Storch knew there was something special about Eminem’s lyrical and all-around musical ability from the very first time he met him through Dr. Dre. Storch recalled his first impressions of Eminem in this interview with Mikey T The Movie Star. Even though Dr. Dre hyped Eminem a lot prior to Scott meeting him, his expectations weren’t let down when he finallly came face-to-face with Marshall Mathers. For starters, Storch recalled being initially shocked that Eminem was White, considering that Dre was already calling him one of the best rappers around, and after working with him on some song projects Storch claimed that he was “blown away,” by Em’s attention to detail while crafting his work.
