John Reilly feat. Rich Quick – Bully Pulpit [Audio]

Aside from the release of Deep Space Soul in 2012 as a part of The Day Laborers, John Reilly has kept relatively quiet on the music tip. While most fans expect (and demand) to hear music on a consistent basis, many fail to acknowledge that their favorite artists are human, and have to deal with personal issues on a daily basis. For John, he’s had to bear the weight of everything from death of loved ones, to fatherhood—while at the same time balancing time to focus on his main passion: creating relatable music for the masses. In November of 2015, the Long Island emcee announced the title of his new EP, “Standing in the Face of Time”, set to be produced entirely by Chicago-based producer Rediculus, bringing back the essence of a one-emcee, one-producer album—a rare commodity not seen in rap these days. This approach is a tried-and-true method which has proved effective since the golden age of Hip-Hop, lending a unique, overall cohesiveness to the project, while also showcasing the chemistry between the two artists—something that is seldom experienced on an album with multiple producers. With the release of his new EP fast approaching, John follows up the EP’s lead single, “Do That Shit” with the equally dope “Bully Pulpit” featuring New Jersey’s Rich Quick. Over Rediculus’ overtly funky production, John and Rich each spit boisterously from a place of authority about the pleasantries they experience while intimidating and berating kids on the school ground, with hilarious lines like

Rich Quick – The Everything Man [Stream]

Rich Quick is in full-on celebratory mode with fiery, neck-snapping new single “The Everywhere Man”, the title-track off his upcoming Soulspazm debut album. The Philly-by-way-of-South Jersey rapper boasts about his career victories to date—namely bodying shows and winning over one crowd after another—while brushing off competitors with a flawless delivery. Quick’s intricate and descriptive verses about his young, albeit established, career are sharp and relentless as they beg for repeated listens. That’s also because of the dizzying production, though, which is supplied by critically adored German producers Snowgoons. They conjured a mixture of snarling guitars and banging percussion that perfectly complements Quick’s braggadocio that’s well deserved. Raise a glass and turn up your speakers for the everywhere man; he’s most definitely arrived. You can stream the track via the link below. Quick’s debut, “The Everywhere Man“, is set to drop September 28th, on Soulspazm Records.

Rich Quick – On My Shoulderz [Stream x Download]

There’s a segment of Hip-Hop where lyricism still reigns supreme. Whether you’re into the double time styles like Jaz-O and Twista, or you follow artists like Aesop Rock, the ability for an artist to tell a unique story is an integral yet often undermined part of the art form. After recently releasing “No1,” the Jersey based wordsmith, Rich Quick, expands upon his catalog as he continues his climb towards success with, “On My Shoulderz”. The second single from, ‘The Everywhere Man’ finds Quick dropping bars and hooks over STANKFOOT’s keys and dirty snares. Lyrically, he can’t be touched; Quick has created his own sense of style that is different enough for others to take notice. Simply put, his rhymes make rapping seem effortless. Quick can navigate his way through any style of production like a slalom course. Rich also continues to showcase his various talents as he lends his artistic expression to create the hand painted cover art. Keep this one on repeat until Quick drops his forthcoming FreEP, ‘The Everywhere Man,’ which is set to drop this Spring through Exponent Entertainment.
