Mr. Green feat. Benefit – The Original [Video]

“This video was shot when Benefit was visiting NYC for the first official Live from the Streets album release party. We didn’t really have a plan but we knew Ben was only here for a couple days so we got busy and shot as much as we could. In addition to this video we also filmed a video for “if i don’t go to hell” including cameos from the wonderful Janice. That video will come out down the road as a part of the ongoing Live from the Streets saga. I honestly don’t know what the future holds for the show but I know we’ve created something truly special with LFTS and I know that we aren’t even close to finished. This video is special to me because it features some of the best moments in the Live from the Streets show over the last couple years along with a couple glimpses into future episodes (like Sean Price and Odb). It’s also special because it’s my first time rhyming on a real song. Shoutout to the legendary Benefit for hearing me rhyme and then convincing me to jump on a real song. If enough people ask me to I might put out more rhymes… we will see.”

Mr. Green’s Sean Price Tribute [Stream]

“When I woke up this morning I started throwing Sean P acapellas on some of my newest beats and came up with this little tribute mix. Then Duck Down James hooked me up with some footage of P and I added a little nyc street footage I shot. I filmed and edited the whole thing myself so it’s a little rough but I wanted to make something for Sean. Also, funds are being raised to directly assist Sean Price’s family moving forward, if you can afford it, please click this link and make a contribution. He has a mixtape dropping August 21st. I heard it, it’s dope. Make sure you buy a copy of that because proceeds from the album will go directly to his family as well.” – Green Hit the jump for the visual.

Mr. Green feat. Raz Fresco – Step Into The Booth [Video]

“Filmed in Taos New Mexico, I got to visit an ancient pueblo belonging to a Tiwa-speaking Native American tribe of Puebloan people. It’s a very interesting place, it’s estimated that it was built between the years 1000-1450. When you’re there it feels like you are in a different time period completely. After the Pueblo, I headed over to Andrea M Pacheco’s house so she could play me some Mariachi music. She put on a dope performance and explained a bit about the instruments. Her day job is to sell religious artifacts so there were all kinds of cool pictures and pieces around. Back in NYC, I made a beat out of Andrea’s Guitaron and had Raz Fresco come through. When Raz came over we hung out for a while, he smoked a few backwoods, and then kicked a dope verse. Be on the lookout for his album ‘Pablo Frescobar’, out July 1.” – Mr. Green Mr. Green’s dope “Live from the Streets” album is out now.

Mr. Green: Live From The Streets (feat. KG of ATR) [Video]

For this episode we linked up with KG, an incredible reggae artist we met out in the park in Brooklyn. This one is crazy because we recorded the whole song outdoors, just a few minutes after meeting each other. What happened is Sam, the co-creator and OG director of the show, and his girlfriend Ally were walking through the park one day when they heard some amazing singing coming from a group of people hanging out by the lake. They walked over and found KG and his crew ATR (Above the Rest) free-styling. Everyone exchanged numbers and then a few days later Sam brought me down there with some beats. I played KG just one track off my beats album “one day EP” and almost immediately he started singing into the mic “… I was born to be king black…” I’m proud of this one because, like most of our tracks, it happened in the most organic way possible. But not only, we recorded the whole thing outside on the side of a lake and now they play it the radio (on Sirium XM) and on TV (on MTV Jams)… crazy. The track is called “Born to Be King” and you can get it on the first official “Live from the Streets” album out now on Duck Down Records feat. Freddie Gibbs, Matisyahu,KRS One, Malik B, Vinnie Paz, Bodega Bamz and many more.

Mr. Green feat. Freddie Gibbs, Chill Moody & Apollo The Great – Clap [Video]

Pre-order Mr. Green’s “Live From The Streets” album on iTunes and receive this track instantly. About the album: The project features Freddie Gibbs, KRS-One, Matisyahu, Vinnie Paz, Malik B of The Roots Crew, Skrewtape, Hakim Green + new songs from Bodega Bamz and Raz Fresco. “Live from the Streets” is a video series created by producer Mr. Green and director Sam Lipman-Stern. The series, which airs on Noisey, follows Green globally on a journey meeting interesting people and musicians on the streets. Green samples their music; interviews the street performer; and then turns the sounds into original beats. After the beat is created, he collaborates with one of his favorite rappers to add powerful lyrics to the musical backdrop he and the street musician constructed. Finally, at the end of each episode, Green revisits the people he sampled to play them the final track; often times receiving emotional responses from people who have never heard themselves on recorded audio. The final episodes are a unique hybrid music/video experience. Mr. Green has now compiled the songs from the series into an album, and is scheduled to release “Live From The Streets” on April 7th.

Mr. Green feat. World’s Fair & PitchBlak Brass Band – Play The Back (Live From The Streets) [Video]

For this episode, I started out with horn samples from the PitchBlak Brass Band. Sam and I went down to the subway in the new Lincoln Center and filmed just enough before the cops came and kicked them out. After that, I met up with the legendary Singing Dragon and recorded a few notes from him. Once the beat was done I had Fools Gold’s World’s Fair come by the studio and record some verses. To top it off we even got a sample from one of their babies. P.S. The track will be on the official “Live from the Streets” album coming soon on LivefromtheStreets.com.
