In the final part of CRWN with Meek Mill and Elliott Wilson, the Philly rapper holds nothing back as he talks about why he doesn’t listen to Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole. “Let me get this clear. J. Kendrick Lamar, I think he the best lyricist doing it right now in the rap game, but I don’t listen to that type of music,” said Meek. “I used to listen to Kendrick shit. In part 3 of his CRWN interview with Elliott Wilson, Meek Mill admits that sometimes he lets “dumb sh*t” get the best of him, like responding to people on Instagram. “Sometimes people just get to me. I go look at they page and see their profile pic and say ‘What the f*ck is you talking’ about?’” His anger even extended to his Maybach Music brother Wale at one point with words being exchanged in public. “Yeah, I was at Wale neck. He was getting on my f*ckin nerves at that time…so I had to give him a piece of Meek Milly. But we apologized and made up like brothers. It wasn’t nothin.” Meek also offers some insight into how exactly he and Nicki Minaj started dating, why he signed with Rick Ross vs T.I. and more.

CRWN w/ Meek Mill (Part 2 of 4) [Video]

In part two of CRWN with Meek Mill the Philly MC details his most recent incarceration for a parole violation. He explained that he was attending probation hearings and was surprised by the sentence. Judge Genese E. Brinkley found that he had failed to get her permission before booking out-of-town concerts and other violations. He served five months at a Philly jail and was released in December of 2014. “When I first got down there n*ggas was staring at me, banging on the windows. It was a nightmare,” Meek said criticizing the culture that celebrates going to jail and countered that taking care of your family is what’s gangster. “You shackled from your ankles to your wrist, sh*t that y’all will never see on the Internet…I was in the cell for 23 hours a day [by myself].” Meek also took the time to talk about his mom, who used to boost him his first sneakers, his relationship with his son and his collaborations with artists like Future, Kendrick Lamar and Jay Z. “On ‘A-1 Everything’ I think Kendrick murdered me…I like his verse better than mine. I like Nicki’s verse better than mine on ‘All Eyes on You’ …but at the end of the day it’s my song and I came up with the idea. Some people gonna win sometimes…it motivates me and inspires me.”

He also talked about the process of choosing a single for his album with Nicki. “She was fighting for me to have a mainstream song and you know me, I like that real shit, that grimy shit,” said Meek. “I don’t need no single on the radio to sell no album. I never gave my fans that and they’ve been here with me this long, so we argue back and forth. She end up winning.
