Alpha Faktion – System Shutdown [Video]
New York trio Alpha Faktion are on the run from the long arm of the law in their new video for “System Shutdown”, which is also the latest banger off their long-awaiting new project, “Creative Control”. Like the previous released Nottz-produced album-titled track, “System Shutdown” is a shining example of the talents of Alpha Faktion’s three members: emcee/producer Azwun, emcee Kraze ILLA, and DJ Enyoutee. Azwun and Kraze get top billing with their hard-nosed bars that capture the snarling Boom bap instrumental from acclaimed producer, Marco Polo. The same goes for the visuals from Phanatiks Entertainment, whose representation of the “System” is a pair of investigators trying to track down the New York trio. With the release of this video, the group is on the verge of releasing their much anticipated new album, “Creative Control”, and it’s definitely one for the purists out there. The fourteen track album boasts production from legends like Marley Marl, Nottz, DJ Skizz, and Ayatollah, along with features from Planet Asia and Mic Handz, among others. For the latest release in his DJ Enyoutee Presents single series, New York producer and deejay, Enyoutee (of Alpha Faktion) links with hard-hitting D.I.T.C. affiliate Milano Constantine for the bruising “Flying Saucers”. The track represents the fourth leak thus far from Enyoutee, who’s been working with various rappers and producers as part of the series. He produced the superbly grimy “Flying Saucers”, though, and will continue to drop bangers like this until Alpha Faktion releases their next project, ‘Creative Control.’ It’s expected to arrive in the second quarter of this year and boasts beats from living legends like Marley Marl, Ayatollah, Marco Polo, DJ Skizz, and Nottz. When he’s not collaborating with lyrically adept emcees like Milano and “ridin’ high like flying saucers”, you can find Enyoutee hosting the No Ideas Original Radio Show, which he also founded. It runs every Saturday/Sunday night from 1 to 3 a.m. EST on 91.3FM in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. Not to be outdone, Milano is keeping busy in 2017, too, by dropping a pair of indie projects this year. The first is The Believers, a collection of previously released, rare, and classic material; and the second is his highly anticipated collaboration with DJ Skizz, The Way We Were. “Flying Saucers” is now available for stream and free download. New York rap trio Alpha Faktion proudly showcase the five elements of Hip-Hop in their new video for “Creative Control”, the Nottz-produced lead single off their upcoming album of the same title. It’s only fitting that rapper/producer Azwun, rapper Kraze, and DJ Enyoutee embrace the foundation of their chosen genre, given that the track itself is a celebration of being independent and taking control of your art. That art, of course, is Hip-Hop as we know it, and the visuals drive home that point by deftly demonstrating each and every element of the culture. From b-boying to deejaying (by Enyoutee), it’s all on display here as Azwun and Kraze spit their verses over Nottz’s crushing instrumental. Backed by his blend of heavy drums and pianos, the two outline exactly why they backed away from dealing with major labels (including the fact that one couldn’t even spell their name collectively). And it’s all beautifully captured by the team at Phanatiks Entertainment, an independently owned media company that’s worked on everything from music videos to public service announcements.
