Mac Miller – The Divine Feminine (10th Anniversary) [Album Stream]

Mac Miller’s The Divine Feminine returns for its tenth anniversary with three unreleased recordings: “Grand,” “Channel 13,” and “Butterflies.”

Mac Miller’s love songs rarely separated devotion from doubt. On “My Favorite Part,” he promises reassurance while leaving room for a romance that might last only one night. That willingness to be hopeful without having everything figured out runs through The Divine Feminine, now expanded for its tenth anniversary with three previously unreleased recordings from the album’s sessions: “Grand,” “Channel 13,” and “Butterflies.”

Previously shared in August, “Butterflies” offers another version of that uncertainty. Mac moves between memories of falling in love and an imagined encounter, eventually questioning whether the woman occupying his thoughts even knows his name. His willingness to give himself over to the feeling survives those doubts. Produced by Taylor Graves with Thundercat on bass, the song adds a telling complication to the romance of The Divine Feminine: being completely captivated by someone doesn’t mean knowing where you stand.
