88 ULTRA & Hell Razah – Blood On The Chessboard [Album Stream]

88 ULTRA and Hell Razah reconnect on Blood On The Chessboard, featuring Raekwon, Your Old Droog, KXNG Crooked, Aceyalone and Killah Priest.

Nineteen years after Hell Razah linked with Blue Sky Black Death for a full-length collaboration, one half of that production duo is back behind him under the 88 ULTRA name. Blood On The Chessboard treats that history as a starting point rather than a nostalgia exercise: Razah has described the album as the next chapter of their saga, with 88 ULTRA again anchoring the production side.

The first previews already mapped out how far that connection would stretch. “Cut from the Cloth” puts Raekwon and Your Old Droog alongside Razah, while “The Flames” brings in Aceyalone. Across the full album, KXNG Crooked appears on “Atomic,” Capone joins “Third Floor” and Myalansky turns up on “The Depths II.” Those pairings are offset by solo cuts including “The Duality,” “The Godfather” and “Dark Sun,” giving Razah room to carry the record without reducing it to a relay of guest verses.

“New Day” closes the album with Killah Priest, reconnecting Razah with his Sunz of Man lineage. That makes the guest cast feel deliberate rather than decorative: Blood On The Chessboard picks up a collaboration rooted in the mid-2000s while extending it through different branches and generations of underground rap.
