Westside Gunn takes “Zilla” to the pyramids of Giza for a Daily Gems-directed visual featuring his new Saucony “Awesome God” sneaker.

Westside Gunn turns “Zilla” into a statement of scale. The first offering of the as-yet-undated Flygod Is an Awesome God 3 finds him at the pyramids of Giza, riding a camel and displaying his new Saucony Grid Jazz 9 “Awesome God” sneaker in a Daily Gems-directed visual.

The shoe is not tacked on like a sponsor’s end card. My Sauconys Glowin had already folded Gunn’s Saucony partnership into the music; “Zilla” enlarges that idea until the campaign, the monument and the rapper’s self-made mythology become one picture. Denny LaFlare produces the track, while Gunn takes aim at Off-White’s appearance in Costco after Virgil Abloh’s death. It is a teaser built like a miniature album world, rather than a routine lead-single rollout.
