Jazz Akrobatiks – Bubblin’ [Audio]

Jazz Akrobatiks unite Awon, Beneficence, Doodlebug, and Jazz Spastiks on their debut single “Bubblin’,” now available digitally and on limited 7-inch vinyl.

Jazz Akrobatiks make their case for jazz rap as a living language, not a period piece. Awon had already joined Beneficence and the UK duo Jazz Spastiks on “Do This, Do That” in 2023; “Bubblin’” extends that connection by putting Doodlebug alongside them, bringing one of Digable Planets’ defining voices into a current underground-rap collaboration.

Jazz Spastiks are the bridge. Their warm jazz loops and dusty drums give Awon, Beneficence, and Doodlebug common ground without sanding down the character of the three MCs. That keeps “Bubblin’” from becoming either a nostalgia play or a résumé-stacking posse cut. The limited 7-inch makes a fitting first document of the collective.
