Released last Friday, August 28, MMM turns a work ethic into a title. Standing for Monday Marathon Music, Headie One’s 10-track project keeps the pressure of his earlier mixtape work intact while asking what happens when the climb produces as much exposure as it does success.

The opening stretch is lean and familiar, with Nemzzz and Turbo reinforcing the momentum. “Turnt To A Target” turns that momentum into a warning: the more visible Headie One becomes, the more exposed he is. “One Thousand Roses” softens the armor, Luciano’s “Wednesday Play” opens up the middle, and Sampha’s feature on “Close” gives the closing track the project’s most open, cinematic moment.

That shift keeps MMM from becoming a simple victory lap. “Stability” looks back at the resentment attached to past actions and new visibility; “Thank God For The 40” broadens the street-level perspective to Brexit, digital platforms, sentencing reform and the cost-of-living squeeze; and “What You Wanted” returns to danger, paranoia, and betrayal. Compared with the broader, 20-track EDNA, MMM is more compact and focused—a statement about keeping the marathon going even when the target on your back has become part of the reward.
