Majid Jordan – Two Roads [Album Stream]
Majid Jordan return with Two Roads, their fifth album, featuring Clementine Douglas and Naomi Sharon.
Majid Jordan have spent more than a decade making restraint feel like a signature rather than a limitation. On Two Roads, they do not abandon the atmospheric electronic R&B that defined their OVO run; they widen it, pulling ’80s soft rock and new jack swing into the same polished late-night space.
That expansion was already visible in “Cold,” whose icy synth tension kept the duo in their nocturnal lane, and “See You Again,” which warmed that palette while bringing Bahrain into the record’s creative geography through doghounds and Kenneth Ullman. Their first full-length since Good People keeps the guest list tight, with Clementine Douglas on “Best Behaviour” and Naomi Sharon on “Island Time,” leaving Majid Al Maskati and Jordan Ullman’s chemistry at the center.
The closing “Two Roads” gives that chemistry its clearest frame. After an album built around glossy electronics and retro R&B movement, the duo strip the sound toward an acoustic folk ballad and turn the idea of two separate paths meeting into a reflection on their partnership. It is a small stylistic break, but one that makes the album feel less like another pass through a familiar mood and more like a record about why that shared language has lasted.
