Vory – SOBER [Audio]

Vory’s guitar-led “SOBER” is the third advance track from DONDADA, his 10-track album due August 28.

“SOBER” opens with acoustic guitar but refuses the neat emotional clarity its title suggests. Vory’s central question is whether love can remain when the protection around him begins to fail; he sings it as a plea, then leaves the answer unsettled. The writing credits pair Vory with Christopher Dotson and Ariel Imani Moffett, and the guitar-led arrangement lets that question stay where it belongs: unanswered.

“SOBER” is the third song made available from DONDADA, Vory’s 10-track album due August 28, after “SIAMESE,” with Rich The Kid, and “RUBI ROSE.” It is the first of those three without a guest, so there is nowhere for the voice—or the doubt—to go but inward.
