VERZUZ: The Game vs. YG [Video]

The Game and YG go hit for hit in the complete 22-round VERZUZ matchup, “Compton Forever.”

VERZUZ has uploaded the complete The Game vs. YG matchup, bringing the July 23 “Compton Forever” event to YouTube in full.

Across 22 rounds, two Compton catalogs meet at different points in the city’s rap lineage: The Game reaches for “Westside Story,” “Dreams,” “Put You on the Game,” “How We Do,” and “Hate It or Love It,” while YG answers with “Bicken Back Being Bool,” “Who Do You Love?,” “FDT,” “Big Bank,” and the closing run of “BPT,” “I’m a Real 1,” and “GANG BIZNESS.”

YG emerged on top in the live fan vote, although VERZUZ makes clear that those numbers reflect fan participation rather than an official declaration of a winner. More than anything, the set is a West Coast catalog showcase, with both artists tracing different eras of Compton rap in the same room.

Hours before the matchup, the pair had already linked with Swizz Beatz and Timbaland on “Red People.” The full broadcast keeps that shared Compton connection at its center.
