Pounds – Varsity Blues [EP]

Pounds returns with Varsity Blues, a seven-track EP produced entirely by himself and built around sports-movie alter egos, with guest appearances from 448 Brad, Coca Lavoe and 067 Red.

Pounds steps into a lineup of sports-movie archetypes on Varsity Blues, a seven-track EP produced entirely by the Rochester, New York rapper. Released on July 31, the project is currently available exclusively through Bandcamp.

The short set builds its concept around names such as Jonathan Moxon, Rick Vaughn, Luther Lavay, Neon Bodeaux, and Rudy Ruettiger. Guest appearances come from 448 Brad, Coca Lavoe, and 067 Red, while “Luther Intro” and “Finders Fee (Skit)” help shape the compact sequence.

Running just over 15 minutes, Varsity Blues keeps its film-inspired framework tight and focused, using its rotating cast of alter egos as the connective thread throughout the EP.
