The Womack Sisters turn absence into a defiant soul lament on “You Went Away Too Long.” Produced by Daptone co-owner Gabriel “Bosco Mann” Roth, the track opens with brooding horns, Rhodes, orchestral chimes, and a measured percussion groove before BG, Zeimani, and Kucha Womack settle into a tender verse about love interrupted.

By the time the sisters lock into the chorus, longing has given way to resolve. Their voices move as one, drawing on the close-knit vocal blend that defines the trio while keeping the focus on the song’s central tension: someone can be missed and still have stayed away too long.

The single will appear as track eight on the trio’s self-titled debut album, The Womack Sisters, due August 14 via Daptone Records. The album rollout has since moved on to “If I Let You,” another taste of the close harmonies and rhythmic warmth shaping the project.
