Beyoncé opens the countdown to the 20th anniversary of B’Day with “MORNING DEW (DONK),” slipping back into a slow, sensual R&B groove after the expansive genre experiments of Cowboy Carter. Pharrell shapes the production with a springy pulse and polished restraint, leaving Beyoncé plenty of room to play with the song’s flirtatious energy.

Written by Beyoncé, Pharrell, The-Dream, and Darius Dixon, the track will appear on the forthcoming anniversary edition of B’Day. The reissue arrives September 4, exactly two decades after her second solo album first appeared, while “MORNING DEW (DONK)” begins a 60-day run toward both the anniversary and Beyoncé’s birthday.

Cliff Watts directed the accompanying lyric video, which uses archival footage from Beyoncé’s 2007 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit shoot. Presented in black and white, the beach imagery matches the song’s unhurried sensuality while reconnecting the anniversary campaign with the visual world of the original B’Day era.

“MORNING DEW (DONK)” is Beyoncé’s first new release since Cowboy Carter in 2024. Rather than pointing toward another dramatic reinvention, it brings a long-discussed track into the official catalog and starts the B’Day celebration with something warm, playful, and unmistakably rooted in R&B.
