Apollo Brown – Stranger Things [Audio]

Apollo Brown heads into darker territory with “Stranger Things,” the latest preview of his forthcoming instrumental album, No Pressure, No Diamond.

Built around a slow, shadowy head nod, the beat strips his sample-based approach down to something sparse and unsettling without abandoning the weight that defines his production.

Brown describes the track as his “minimal interpretation of ‘The Upside Down,’” imagining a Demogorgon quietly nodding along before stepping to the mic. The reference is playful, but the atmosphere remains sinister: “Stranger Things” feels designed for the space between a horror score and a grimy rap instrumental, leaving an open verse for whatever creature might wander into the session.

Following “Angels & Diamonds,” the new cut offers another look at No Pressure, No Diamond., which arrives July 24 through Brown’s Escapism imprint. The 15-track project was produced and arranged entirely by Apollo Brown, with “Stranger Things” appearing second in the sequence.
