RetcH – FINESSE THE WORLD 2 [Album Stream]

RetcH releases FINESSE THE WORLD 2, then follows the long-awaited sequel with an official video for the Python P-produced “Martin Luther Six.”

Eleven years after Finesse the World, RetcH has finally delivered FINESSE THE WORLD 2. The sequel carries the cold, claustrophobic character of the 2015 project into the present, placing his weathered delivery over grim loops, heavy drums, and production that rarely offers a moment of relief. Released July 3 through FASTMONEY, the album spans 12 songs and just over 32 minutes.

Sha Hef supplies the only guest appearance on “DAYSHIFT/NIGHTSHIFT,” while Axelbloodyaxel, Python P, G Lok, A$AP P on the Boards, V Don, B. Wolf, Zooter McGavin, and Grimm Doza divide the production credits. With only one additional voice across the record, RetcH carries nearly every scene alone, moving through jail memories, loss, pressure, and survival without polishing the details.

RetcH has also shared an official video for “Martin Luther Six,” the Python P-produced second track. References to grief, incarceration, and police pressure make it one of the album’s more personal performances, while the closing excerpt from Martin Luther King Jr.’s “I Have a Dream” speech draws a stark line between promised freedom and the reality RetcH describes.
