Transonic make transformation sound lived-in on TRANSONIC, a self-titled debut album that moves between hip-hop, alternative soul, smoked-out intimacy, and clear-eyed self-definition.

Across nine songs, the duo build a project that feels personal without closing itself off. “HookJab” opens with bite, “I Need Dat” pushes the confidence forward, and “$$$” turns ambition into something both playful and pointed. The softer moments do not feel like pauses from the rap records; they deepen the same world. “Metadicinal” and “Heatwave” move through haze and warmth, while “Fly Away With Me” and “transitions_voice memo” bring the album closer to vulnerability, anxiety, visibility, and the emotional work behind becoming more fully visible.

Korbin Hawkins’ production gives TRANSONIC its shape: textured, fluid, and loose enough to let each track breathe. Meysha’s writing and vocals carry the album’s center, shifting from sharp cadences into melodic reflection without making those turns feel forced. That range is the point. Transonic are not smoothing out the contradictions between joy, pressure, desire, grief, survival, and release; they let those pieces sit beside each other.

There is also a clear community pulse running through the record. TRANSONIC was built as a Black trans-made project, with the duo placing authorship, production, visual identity, and creative labor inside the same frame. That does not make the album feel like a statement first and music second. The songs still move, swing, smoke, flirt, and talk back. The message is there because the life is there.

By the time the album reaches its more exposed final stretch, TRANSONIC has already shown how wide the duo’s language can get. It is intimate, but not small; political, but not stiff; experimental, but still grounded in hooks, rhythm, and voice. Transonic introduce themselves with a record that sounds less like arrival hype than a full-body exhale.
