Sonnyjim digs back into Mud In My Malbec with a new remix of “Red Mullet,” bringing the Westside Gunn-assisted cut into the album’s 10th anniversary cycle.

The original already had that cold transatlantic edge: Birmingham luxury-rap detail meeting Buffalo ad-libs, dust, and Griselda presence. This version sharpens the frame without stripping away the grime.

The Sonnyjim Remix moves with a tighter, more self-contained feel. It is still built around that same appetite for expensive references, dry wit, and street-level texture, but the production gives the record a slightly different pressure point. Sonnyjim sounds completely at home inside that world, while Westside Gunn’s voice cuts through with the kind of instantly recognizable energy that made the 2016 version stand out in the first place.

As part of Mud In My Malbec (10th Anniversary Deluxe Edition), “Red Mullet” works like more than a throwback. It points back to a record that helped widen Sonnyjim’s reach beyond the UK underground, but the remix also gives the track a fresh reason to move through rotation now.
