A-F-R-O and MotionPlus lock into a heavy boom-bap wavelength on Frequencies, a full-length collaboration that puts bar work, dusty drums, and sharp-cut production at the center.

The pairing feels natural from the jump. A-F-R-O brings the dense rhyme patterns and a producer’s grip on texture, while MotionPlus gives the album a grounded, seasoned counterweight. Across 16 tracks, the record stays focused on sturdy loops, clean scratches, faith-driven pressure points, and underground rap fundamentals without turning into a museum piece.

There is plenty of movement inside that framework. “Sleepwalkin’” and “Da Family” set the tone early with tight pacing and no-frills chemistry, while “Documented,” “Obstacle Course,” and “Mad Scientists” lean deeper into the kind of technical writing both emcees are built for. Later cuts like “Biblical” with Elena Charis and “Flowers” with Alyssa Jane bring a little more air into the album without softening its core.

A-F-R-O also handles most of the production, giving Frequencies a clear identity behind the boards. BobCatt the Legend, Counterphit, MotionPlus, and Stu Bangas step in for select moments, but the album never feels scattered. It sounds like two emcees meeting on shared ground and staying there long enough to build something solid.
