Captain Murphy aka Flying Lotus & Little Snake – Mudhole [Video]

Flying Lotus brings Captain Murphy back into the dirt on “Mudhole,” a gnarly original track from the motion picture The Furious that also pulls Little Snake into the wreckage.

The record does not treat its film placement like a clean soundtrack cue. It sounds more like something kicked up from the impact: warped low-end, abrasive movement, and Captain Murphy’s voice cutting through with a cartoon-villain weight that still feels strange enough to belong to FlyLo’s universe. Little Snake’s production touch sharpens the chaos, pushing the track toward something closer to experimental rage rap than a conventional movie tie-in.

That makes “Mudhole” a natural fit for The Furious, a Lionsgate martial-arts film built around violence, momentum, and spectacle. Captain Murphy has always worked best when the line between character, rapper, and hallucination gets blurry, and this return leans into that tension instead of smoothing it out. It is short, nasty, and built to leave residue.

The official visualizer extends the same mood, giving the single a visual piece while keeping the focus on the collision between FlyLo’s rap alter ego, Little Snake’s jagged production, and the film’s bruising energy.
