Wale – YSF [Video]
Wale brings “YSF” deeper into its own world with a new official video, shot in Lagos and built around the song’s Nigerian pulse.
Taken from his latest album, everything is a lot., the track pairs him with Teni and Seyi Vibez, two voices that pull the record further into the Afrobeats orbit without sanding down Wale’s own reflective rap instincts.
The video, directed by Odunsi The Engine, moves with a careful eye for texture. Shot on 16 mm, it places Wale, Teni, and Seyi Vibez between traditional Adire Alabela garb, contemporary styling, and scenes that nod to Yoruba textile work and Nigerian visual culture. It feels elegant without becoming static, letting the clothes, movement, and location do a lot of the storytelling.
That balance suits the song well. “YSF” is warm and melodic, but still grounded in Wale’s usual sense of detail—the kind of record where heritage, memory, and flex can sit in the same pocket. Teni brings color and lift, Seyi Vibez adds his distinct street-pop edge, and Wale threads the whole thing back to the album’s broader mood.
