Kenny Mason has always worked best in the space where rap, rock, melody, and distortion start bleeding into each other, and BULLDAWG pushes deeper into that collision.

The Atlanta artist’s new album moves with the bite its title suggests, but it is not just loud for the sake of impact. There is weight in the writing, tension in the guitars, and a lot of emotion running underneath the blown-out edges.

Across 15 songs, Mason keeps shifting the frame without losing the album’s center. “BOUNCE WIT ME” brings the charged, pit-ready energy, “TEST ME” reunites him with JID for a darker exchange, and “FIND GOD” links him with Dominic Fike for one of the project’s more reflective turns. Paris Texas, SMJ and others also enter the picture, but BULLDAWG still feels firmly built around Mason’s own voice — restless, wounded, confident, and never fully settled in one genre.

That tension is part of the appeal. Gospel textures, heavy guitars, Atlanta grit, and raw melodic instincts all run through the record, giving Mason room to talk about identity, pain, love, survival, and self-definition without smoothing out the rough parts. He sounds like an artist trying to protect what makes him strange while sharpening it into something bigger.
