El Gant & maticulous feat. Brother Ali – Wordle [Audio]
El Gant and maticulous link with Brother Ali on “Wordle,” the first single from their upcoming joint album House of Cards.
The track brings El Gant’s sharp New York writing together with maticulous’ heavy, drum-first production, giving Brother Ali plenty of room to step in with the kind of grounded, socially aware presence that has long defined his best work. “Wordle” moves through socioeconomic pressure, distraction, and a culture glued to screens, but it never turns into a lecture. The record keeps its head nodding while the verses do the talking.
There is a clear old-school backbone to the production, with maticulous leaning into a sturdy boom-bap knock instead of overcomplicating the backdrop. El Gant sounds locked in, cutting through the beat with direct bars and a veteran’s control, while Brother Ali adds weight without shifting the song’s focus away from the bigger picture.
“Wordle” is out now and serves as the first taste of House of Cards, the forthcoming El Gant and maticulous album expected this July.
