The track sits in the smoked-out, inward-facing pocket of Zay’s new project, letting his voice drift between confession, exhaustion, and the kind of dry self-awareness that has always made his writing feel lived-in rather than polished clean.

Julian Sintonia’s presence fits right into the album’s texture. “It’s Been Awful” leans into warm, hazy, sample-shaped production, giving Rashad enough space to sound bruised without turning the music into pure heaviness. “DO I LOOK HIGH?” plays like one of those moments where the question is casual on the surface and heavier underneath, folding paranoia, humor, and self-recognition into the same breath.
