Coldchain and Craven keep promoting their new LP “Play With Something Safe” with a matching set of visuals for one of the album’s most quietly gripping cuts.

Craven’s production does not crowd the room. The beat drifts in with that foggy, soul-sample patience he has made his signature, leaving Rosco enough open space to talk with detail, bite, and wear on his voice. “Hold My Hand” is not polished into softness, though. It still carries the rough edge of a rapper who sounds like he is measuring every memory before letting it out.

The track appears as the second song on “Play With Something Safe,” the joint album Rosco P Coldchain and Nicholas Craven released in late April. Across the project, the Philadelphia MC’s gravelly presence sits naturally inside Craven’s loops, with guest spots from Malcolm Kamal, Bruiser Wolf, Jimmie D, and Ab-Liva rounding out the record without pulling it away from its raw, one-producer-album feel.
