DJ Premier & The Alchemist – For The Gig [Video]

DJ Premier and The Alchemist share the official video for “For The Gig,” a raw new collaboration built on vintage Preemo grit and a sharp verse from Alchemist.

DJ Premier and The Alchemist do not need much ceremony to make a room feel different. On “For The Gig,” their new video single, the chemistry is stripped back to the essentials: dirt on the drums, hard cuts, dusty tension, and the kind of veteran timing that makes the record feel built for a stage before it is even halfway through.

The track follows their He’s The Preemo, I’m The Chemist European run and arrives just ahead of their May 9 show at The Novo in Los Angeles. Alchemist handles the production here, leaving enough space for Premier’s scratches and that familiar vinyl-bred pressure to cut through. The video keeps the focus close to the two architects, less spectacle than document: two legends in working mode, treating the song like a warm-up for the next room.
