Lizzo turns the title of her next era into the hook itself on “BITCH,” a new single that plays with provocation, self-definition, and pop muscle in equal measure. The record is the title track from her upcoming album “BITCH,” which is set for release on June 5.

Built around an interpolation of Meredith Brooks’ 1997 hit “Bitch,” the song taps into a familiar piece of pop history and flips it into Lizzo’s own language: louder, glossier, and more confrontational. There is attitude in the repetition, but the track is not only about shock value. It folds neatly into the confidence-first world she has been building since “Truth Hurts,” where the insult gets disarmed before it can do damage.

The official video sharpens that idea visually, leaning into the album’s bold, defiant branding while keeping Lizzo front and center. After last year’s My Face Hurts From Smiling mixtape, “BITCH” points toward a bigger pop return with some teeth behind the smile.
