Isaiah Rashad – It’s Been Awful [Album Stream]

Isaiah Rashad returns with his new album, “It’s Been Awful.”

Isaiah Rashad has never needed to force the room quiet. His music usually gets there by pulling everything inward—the slurred warmth, the half-lit memories, the way a line can sound casual until it starts sitting heavy. On “It’s Been Awful,” his first full-length release since “The House Is Burning,” that inward pull feels sharper and more exposed.

The new album runs 16 tracks and keeps Rashad’s world close, even when the guest list opens up. SZA joins him on “Boy in Red,” Julian Sintonia appears on “Do I Look High?,” and Dominic Fike shows up for “Cameras,” while songs like “Same Sh!t,” “Scared 2 Look Down,” “Ain’t Givin’ Up,” “Nuthin 2 Hide” and “719 Freestyle” bring the focus back to Rashad’s own drift through pressure, survival and self-interrogation. The writing is loose in the way his best music often is, but the weight underneath it is unmistakable.

“Same Sh!t” set the tone ahead of the album with an official video that framed Rashad in a quiet, uneasy loop before pushing him toward something darker. “It’s Been Awful” expands from there without losing that strange intimacy—a record that moves through haze, humor, regret, and resilience without turning any of it into clean confession.

“It’s Been Awful” is out now. Take a listen below, and keep scrolling for the visual for “M.O.M.”
