Amerigo Gazaway – Bonus Beats: Vol. 2 [Beat Tape]

Amerigo Gazaway keeps the crate open on Bonus Beats: Vol. 2, another instrumental dispatch from the producer’s vault-minded series.

The tape pulls from remix foundations, alternate versions, beat-battle ideas, sketches, and side projects, but it plays less like loose inventory than a carefully swept-up corner of Gazaway’s process. “Future Classic” sets the tone with a name that fits the series’ love for old-school mechanics, while “Shaolin Soul,” “Mad Flava,” and “Chamber Music” move through dusty chop work, boom-bap swing, and cinematic texture.

As with the rest of the Bonus Beats run, the charm is in hearing the architecture. Gazaway’s remix brain is still present, but without vocal centerpieces the drums, loops, basslines, and little melodic turns get more space to talk. These are instrumentals with B-side DNA: built for DJs, beat heads, and anyone who likes the feeling of finding something tucked just out of view.
