Pink Siifu – Article Of Virtue [Video]

Pink Siifu has always been at his most dangerous when he stops trying to “fit” inside rap’s usual job description — and “Article of Virtue” is him doing exactly that, leaning into pure musicianship and letting the groove speak.

Framed like a little birthday gift to the world, the video drops with a jazzy, instrumental spirit where Siifu steps out front on percussion, turning the track into motion more than a message: pocket, swing, texture, breath.

The backstory makes it even better. Siifu said the song was made on his birthday two years ago at Electric Garden, and the lineup reads like a small, locked-in session rather than a “single” built in pieces: Grant Jefferson on piano and Keenyn Omari on saxophone and flute, with Blk Deco also featured. The result feels alive in a way you can’t fake—not pristine or over-edited, but intentional, like the room is part of the record. And that’s the real flex here: Siifu doesn’t need to chase a hook when the rhythm itself is the hook.

As far as “what album is this from?” — right now, it plays like a standalone loosie / archive-style drop, not a clearly labeled album rollout, which fits Siifu’s whole shape-shifting approach anyway. “Article of Virtue” is less a chapter in a marketing plan and more a snapshot of an artist reminding you he’s fluent in the entire language—rap, jazz, soul, and whatever’s in between—and he can switch roles whenever he feels like it.
