JasonMartin – A Lonely Winter [EP]
JasonMartin doesn’t treat Christmas like a mandatory “good vibes only” checkpoint.
On “A Lonely Winter”, he leans into the part of the season a lot of people recognize but rarely soundtrack: the quiet hours, the empty seats, the late-night scrolling, the strange mix of gratitude and heaviness. It’s a tight 8-track EP that dropped Christmas Eve (Dec 24, 2025) under 50 Million, LLC, distributed via The Orchard.
The real win is how focused it is. At roughly 18 minutes, the project plays like a single mood in eight scenes—short enough to run back immediately, but detailed enough that little lines and turns of phrase start popping out on repeat. And with Mike & Keys in the mix, the production stays clean and intentional: wintery without leaning on clichés, soulful without drowning in sentimentality.
The rollout also understands the assignment visually. “Ok (R.I.P.)” arrived with a stark black-and-white video set in and around a church, directed by Tequila Jones—less “holiday content”, more reflection and reckoning. “Santa or Nah” and “If You Need That” got an official video too (prod. Axel Foley, directed by Tequila Jones), the kind of closer that feels like it’s aimed at real life, not timelines. Feature-wise, it stays surgical: KBoy shows up on the opener “Stop Playin With Me”, and Candice Boyd adds a smooth counterbalance on “Think About Me”.
Everything else is JasonMartin keeping the room quiet enough to hear what he’s really saying.
