Mozzy – Permanent Tears [EP]
Mozzy just tossed out a four-pack that feels less like an “EP rollout” and more like a late-night text you weren’t ready to read.
“Permanent Tears” is short enough to run back twice, heavy enough that you probably will. The title track opens the door with that familiar Mozzy tension: grief and vigilance in the same breath, like he’s narrating from inside the pressure instead of looking back on it. Then he hits you with “Deeply Embedded” — only 1:30, but it lands like a bruise you notice later.
Where this little project really clicks is the sequencing. “Gang Injunction” drags the camera outward — from personal pain to the system that keeps the vise tight — and “Past Tense” closes it like a hard swallow, not a victory lap. Mozzy even framed it simply himself: a “lil 4 song” drop, “back in album mode.” And honestly, that’s exactly what “Permanent Tears” sounds like — a quick bleed-out before the next bigger chapter hits.
